As Chairman of the Piedmont Council, Boy Scouts of America's 2011 Friends of Scouting Campaign, it is my pleasure to invite you to become involved in a championship program that teaches our youth the very best in character and citizenship. To become a NASCAR champion, it takes a large group of people working toward a common goal, to create a winning and effective team. In 2011, I am asking for you to join me with your talents and resources in support of one of the Boy Scout's finest councils - the Piedmont Council. As we conclude Scouting's Centennial celebration, we are now poised to race into the next century of Scouting and continue the journey that has helped millions of youth understand the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
To initiate our 2011 Friends of Scouting campaign and close-out our Centennial year of celebration, I am inviting key campaign leadership and select community leaders to be my guests for a very special dinner at Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory, NC on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. A pre-dinner social and reception will be held from 5:45-6:30 p.m. I think you will find our gathering most enjoyable and inspirational as to Scouting's ability to offer the youth in our communities a program that will result in their becoming good citizens and future leaders.
Those attending will be treated to a fun and motivational dialogue between my father, Ned Jarrett and I, as we share amusing race stories and tie them into the values taught by the Boy Scouts.
Because of your involvement, I'm positive we will continue to provide the leadership needed to help the Piedmont Council build on its' already strong programs and further the mission of the BSA to teach young people to make ethical decisions throughout their lifetime.
I personally encourage you to attend this significant dinner in support of the Boy Scouts on Tuesday, November 23rd at Lake Hickory Country Club and look forward to meeting and seeing you there. A member of the dinner committee will call to confirm your attendance and determine your entrée choice of a steak, chicken or seafood dinner.
Yours in Scouting,
